Operation Details:
Production may occur on location, in a studio, at/or in a public place or on a constructed set, and may be for a short duration or for weeks or months at a time.
Production may involve set construction requiring trades people engaged in sub-contractor relationships, as well as truckers for transporting equipment, trailers for actors, make-up, catering operations, etc.
Workers may include technicians, actors, actresses, extras, stand-ins, performers, entertainers, animators, camera operators, casting directors, film editors, cinematographers, costume designers, make-up artists, caterers, animal handlers, producers, directors, etc.
This industry includes audio recording events such as conferences, speakers, etc. These are produced in studios and sound stages and/or on location, using actors, 'man on the street', and/or real life situations.
The production of video content is also included in this industry. These are used for sales promotions, advertising, commercials, TV programming, safety training, or educational purposes.
This industry is also used for employers engaged in the photography business. This includes commercial, industrial, and portrait photography, whether conducted in a studio or on site/location. Integral to this operation would be film developing and picture framing, when restricted to the business's own photographs.
Employers who provide consulting to film and television producers, giving technical and creative advice, and advice on synchronizing music to image are included. In addition, the industry may include employers who supervise work during filming.

Production companies may seek a Section 16 Deeming Order to ensure coverage is in place for all contractors or subcontractors engaged. Deeming Orders are in effect upon approval. Some considerations include type of work conducted, residency and exempt status.
Stunt persons are not covered under WCA, refer to Policy 06-01 (Part II).
Photography businesses that specialize in taking scenic aerial photographs are covered on a voluntary basis in industry 50203, Flight Operations - Miscellaneous.
