This industry also includes a variety of medical and dental services such as orthodontics, optometry, psychology, speech pathology, audiology, hypnotism, chiropractic, naturopathic and dietary consulting.
Private clinics that offer minor surgical procedures are included under this classification, provided the services are limited to day surgery which do not require overnight or extended treatment.
Midwifery clinics are also classified in this industry. Midwives offer primary care to healthy pregnant women and their newborn babies from early pregnancy, through labour and birth and into postpartum.
Primary Care Networks (PCNs) are not-for-profit entities established to improve the delivery of primary care and are classified in this industry. A PCN is comprised of a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, dieticians, social workers and pharmacists. The services provided are an extension of family practice.
