This industry consists of the sale and/or rental of motor homes, holiday trailers, tent trailers, horse trailers, and manufactured homes when conducted independently and not in conjunction with manufacturing.

Operation Details:

The primary activity conducted in this industry is sales with some after sales servicing of products sold.

Businesses may feature extensive parts and accessories sales as an extension of their primary activity relating to sales. Accessories, parts and components are serviced or installed to prepare the trailer for sale/rent. After each rental unit is returned, it will require a certain amount of cleaning and/or minor maintenance. Most repair work is performed on components of the camper or trailer itself, with only incidental motor or mechanical work being conducted.

Manufactured home sales includes delivery and set-up: levelling, hook-ups, and skirting, and providing after sales servicing.

Businesses may operate a showroom or yard and shop with related equipment and accessories, and may employ technical staff, maintenance staff, parts staff and mechanics, sale/rental clerks, and office and administrative staff.

Underwriting Considerations:

No manufacturing is permitted in this industry. Where manufacturing activities are conducted in conjunction with sales, the entire operation would be classified in Industry 25401, Wood Product Manufacturing.

Independent custom trucking of manufactured homes is classified in Industry 50701, Specialized Trucking. Independent custom services pertaining to the set-up of manufactured homes is classified in Industry 40401, Construction Trade Services - NEC.

Industrial camp rental and maintenance, including set up, is classified in Industry 89922, Industrial Camp Rentals. The independent sale and/or rental of industrial transport trailers is classified in Industry 62201, Mobile Equipment and Industrial Trailer Sales/Rental and Service.

Industry Custom Pricing: Waiving Cost Relief Option

This industry has chosen to participate in Industry Custom Pricing effective January 1, 2010. Costs related to the aggravation of a pre-existing condition will not be removed from the experience record of employers classified in this industry. In return, the portion of premiums collected to fund retroactive cost relief has been removed from the industry rate, resulting in a reduction in WCB premium rates for the industry
