Industry Custom Pricing - CR

This industry includes businesses that manufacture sporting good items where the manufacturing is generally limited to assembly-type operations. This industry will include the manufacturing of items such as golf clubs, fishing lures, curling brooms, archery equipment, racquets, and includes businesses which manufacture brooms and brushes.

Operation Details:

This industry includes the manufacture of sporting good items through assembly-type operations. Examples of the manufacturing processes in this industry include the following:
- the designing of custom golf clubs involves determining the components of the club that best suits the golfer's needs and then, building the club with the specific component using hand tools.
- brooms and brushes are manufactured using a machine which drills small holes at the bottom of the brooms/brushes for the nylon, plastic or fibre bristles. These bristles are then glued to the inside of the holes and then, combed and trimmed to required lengths. Some of the products manufactured in this manner include curling brooms, sweeping brooms, hand scrub brushes, car wash brushes, etc.
- the manufacturing of fishing lures, in assembling and finishing, may use punch presses, tumbling barrels, air sprayers and baking ovens.

Underwriting Considerations:

Businesses that manufacture golf culbs may also sell golfing accessories and clothing, and may have an indoor facility for hitting golfs balls and filming their clients' golf swing.

Retail golf stores and pro shops generally sell stock items and will provide golf club repair. These businesses may customize or manufacture a golf club or set of clubs on an occasional basis and would not require an additional classification for manufacturing.
