Industry Code: 35301

Compulsory
Industry Custom Pricing - CR

This industry includes businesses that are involved in the sale, engraving and installation of memorials.

Operation Details:

Marble monuments are purchased pre-cut and pre-polished from manufacturers and weigh anywhere from 300 to 1,000 pounds. The equipment used to move the stones include overhead cranes, electric hoists, forklifts and dollies. Engraving is done using a sandblasting process, usually in an enclosed chamber.

Some employers use small saws and manual polishers to repair stones that are chipped or scratched in transit. There is no other stone cutting.

Monuments are transported to the cemetery on trucks with electric hoists and then placed in cement foundations on the graves. Some companies use prefabricated foundations (cement boxes) supplied by the manufacturers, while others mix their own concrete in portable cement mixers at the grave site.

Underwriting Considerations:

This industry is specific to the sale and installation of the specified product and does not include manufacturing. Depending on the process, manufacturing may be classified in industry 34702 (Marble Products) or industry 34700 (Concrete Products).

Industry Custom Pricing: Waiving Cost Relief Option
